It is extracted from the nuts of the Vitellaria Paradoxa, a plant that grows spontaneously in Africa and cannot be cultivated. It is very nourishing and rich in vitamins and antioxidants. It contains many fatty acids and PREVENTS skin aging, treating some skin disorders; stimulates the production of collagen and elastin, is emollient, soothing, anti-wrinkle and healing. Thanks to its soothing and antibacterial action, it can be used on dry, flaky, sensitive skin, as well as on wounds, abrasions, erythema, eczema and small wounds and abrasions.
It increases the skin’s absorption capacity because its fatty acid content is very similar to that of the skin, which absorbs it easily and can penetrate deeper, carrying any other oils present. Ideal for dry, fragile and sensitive skin. It has emollient and smoothing properties. It has a high concentration of palmitoleic acid, a powerful antioxidant, which makes it similar to skin lipids and helps the skin remain elastic and hydrated for longer. Linoleic acid, Omega 3 and Omega 6 make it an effective anti-aging agent. Rich in minerals, vitamins and flavonoids (precious natural antioxidants) it combats free radicals.
It has healing, astringent, anti-inflammatory, soothing and decongestant properties, giving a prolonged feeling of well-being.
Historical curiosity on Yarrow: according to Pliny, the hero Achilles used the plant during the siege of Troy, on the advice of the centurion Chiron, to cure the wounds suffered in battle by his soldiers.
